This memorial site was created in the memory of our loved one, Shelby Jean Isola who was born on May 29, 2001 and passed away on July 14, 2001 at the age of 46 days. We will remember her forever. Our beautiful little angel has touched so many lives and taught us so many things. She was only here for a short time but we learned so much from her. She was born at 1 pound 8.7 ozs and 14 inches long. She was born at 29 weeks and did well every day. She was getting bigger by the day and had a beautiful smile. She loved her dad! She knew when he was in the room! She got an infection called NEC and she passed away after a day of fighting so hard to stay with us. We did not miss a day with her here and have not stopped thinking of her since the moment that she left. We knew that you don't have to be with us for us to love you and know that you will never be forgotten. We love you baby girl!
Shelby was conceived in Hawaii at my brother's wedding and boy we were so exicted when we found out. We had tried for over 4 years! Finally we were going to have a baby. Everything was going well and then one day I did not feel well and my mom told me that I better call the Dr so I did. We went down and when we got there it all started. They said that Shelby was going to come early because she was not getting the proper things inside of me. I was scared to death. I did not want this baby to be here yet, but had I not made that trip I would not have had her for 46 days. They took her by c-section about 4 hours after we arrived. We were there with her day by day and around the 10th day we got the news that she had a bleed in her head and that it was serious. We were told that she could be retarted or have cp. At that point nothing was making sense to me. The next day I just got positive and told myself that she was going to be fine. She was doing well and even the bleed was starting to go away on its own. I did believe that we would develop cp, I knew that she was not going to be retarted and she could hear and see me. She grew sick on 7/13/01 and on 7/14 I was told that she was very sick. I got there to see her and I could not believe that my baby looked so sick. I will never forget her laying there looking up at me and giving me that last smile. I will never forget that baby girl. She tried all day to make her body get better but I knew for the moment that I got the call that baby girl would pass that day. She waited for her daddy to get by her side and then you went to the heaven above. Our lives have changed forever and we have one less person with us on earth but we always know that we have you Shelby Jean.

Life Today
Somedays I wonder what you would look like, what you would like to eat or what kind of habits you would have. I know that somedays its hard to believe that you are gone and other days it feels like you just left us. You taught us how to live in today and not worry about tomorrow, how to love one another, make family first, not worry about all the little things in life, we don't have control over everything and for some reason or another things happen they way they do. We may not be where we are today, without being able to talk about you. We may not be the way we are today without you coming into our lives! You brought a smile to our face and tears to our eyes but what a joy you are!
